James White REALTOR®
OWNER & FOUNDER - Sales & Development
James White is an experienced realtor as well as the Broker and owner of Canoe Realty. His local knowledge, resourcefulness and hands-on approach to real estate will ensure a satisfying, comprehensive and profitable experience for his clients.
James has built his career in real estate from the ground up. He made his start in the 1980’s in the booming Vancouver construction industry, where he sharpened his carpentry and renovation skills for both residential and commercial applications. Pursuing his interests in art and architecture and following his attraction to Nova Scotia's natural beauty, James moved to Nova Scotia’s South Shore (1993) where he purchased a residential / commercial heritage property in Lunenburg. He converted this property (Anderson House, circa 1864) into the family business Out of Hand, a successful gallery focused on Maritime art and craft. After moving to Halifax (2000) his next project involved the restoration and development of a historic complex located on Agricola St and Charles St. in Halifax (O’Malley’s Bakery, circa 1898) into loft offices, artist studios and a gallery which he sold in 2005. The property is now known as Creative Crossings and houses some of the most popular restaurants and cafés in the neighbourhood.
James began his career as a REALTOR® in the spring of 2006. In 2010, he obtained his Broker’s licence and launched Canoe Realty. Known for his enthusiasm, straightforward approach and limitless energy, James brings an investment perspective to the buying process and diligently strives for a successful close to every sale.
